[He tries to contact people when the Admiral makes his announcements, the least he can do is try to carry out one of the few responsibilities handed out. He doesn't take the fact that things have been...difficult since the flood as an acceptable excuse for himself. But what's done happened and he can at least do this much.]
[ He gives it a few hours once the announcement goes up, and the file appears in his room. He locks the file safely in a drawer in a filing cabinet, without opening or reading it. He will, but not before he talks to her.
Which means, while he gives himself time to finish his gym shift and her to... process, if she needs it, once that time's past, he gets in touch. ]
I assume you saw the announcement. You want to swing by here, have me come to you, or meet up on deck?
[ Options. Where they meet is her call. They are going to talk though, dammit. ]
It's been a few days since she was paired with Bucky and Mick's been going back and forth on this. On the one hand, he wants to just avoid her and is more than happy that she seems to be doing that. On the other hand, he feels protective towards Bucky and since she is from his world he feels she is partly his responsibility. So he is outside her cabin a few hours after lunch one day. Unarmed but he is wearing his gloves and the big heavy fireman's jacket he is so fond of. At least a hint of protection should she go after him again. He knocks on the door.
There is a list of people that Frost doesn't want to see. It may not be a
very long list, but sitting right at the top of it is Mick, and she knows
from the voice on the other side of the door that that's exactly who's here
to see her.
She also knows that being Caitlin, instead, wouldn't change a damn thing.
It might even make it worse. She might wind up being sorry, and she
refuses to do that. For a second she debates the merits of just pretending
not to be home, but eventually she gets up and goes to the door, fully
prepared to tell him to just go away, maybe freeze something if he isn't
inclined to do that.
But when she gets to the door and sees that he looks ridiculous, she
stifles a laugh and shakes her head, before letting the door open a little
further. She leans on the doorway and looks up at him, unfazed. "You're
scared of me," she says proudly.
He's not planning on checking in with Caitlin after his trip home, but that's mostly because he's not expecting her to still be there at all. Obviously, once he spots her door, his plans immediately change.
"Caitlin?" He knocks, hopeful, if slightly baffled.
Caitlin's original plan hadn't exactly involved sticking around much
longer, either, but -- things happen. Her smile's warm but a little
embarrassed when she opens the door to find Fraser there. "Oh ... hi. Do
you ... want to come in?"
She doesn't mean to sound as confused as she probably does.
Hey, Cait. I know you're leaving soon, but I need to ask a favor from you. You can say no, but I still need to ask.
Steve and I are getting married on the 26th. Will you be a maid of honor and a witness for me? Before you go home? I don't want to get married without my family there. And you're definitely that.

Are you really asking me "your place or mine?" How about yours?
[As long as it's not in public.]

voice; backdated to Dec. 2nd
[His voice, despite his choice of words is more curious than anything.]
Re: voice; backdated to Dec. 2nd
I did. I don't mind meeting in person, or continuing here. I'm pretty flexible.
The only places I might want access to are the Enclosure and the Lounge - but I can usually find someone to let me in, if I need it.

[voice, right at the start of Pure Imagination] 1/2
[His voice is hushed, almost a whisper, but it's impossible to miss the excitement in it.]
She's here. She's really here this time. I checked.
[And indeed, there's a woman's voice in the background, asking a question Caitlin can't quite make out.]
I have to go. But come by if you want to meet her.
[voice, a few days later] 2/2
Disregard my previous message, when you get this. I... made a mistake.
